AMCO (Algemene MestCentrale Ottersum) is a horse manure transport company in Milsbeek. AMCO is a business which has collected horse manure from riding schools, stud farms, race tracks and stables since 1971.

Anyone with horses but not enough land on to spread the manure can turn to AMCO B.V. With its 900 clients divided over the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany it undoubtedly is one of the largest in this line of business. AMCO is a complete subsidiary of C4C Holding B.V.

Modern cattle farms cause large-scale environmental problems in a number of concentration areas. AMCO takes the collected horse manure to the mixing and indoor fresh compost IVC®-factory of CNC at Moerdijk. The horse manure is processed here in an environmentally friendly way into a substrate for the cultivation of mushrooms. Apart from that AMCO takes care of the transport of the obtained IVC® (indoor verse compost) from Moerdijk to the tunnel companies of CNC in Milsbeek, Ammerzoden and others.

Every day twenty-five modern trailers and thirty employees are occupied with the transport of horse manure and IVC®. Twenty-one trailers have been provided with a (removable) crane unit.

AMCO sets high standards to the quality of horse manure. CNC Grondstoffen B.V. can only produce mushroom compost from manure with wheat or rye straw which must not be older than over two weeks old.

AMCO is very concerned about the environment; all trailers have been provided with a soot filter to limit the harmful emission. All trucks also comply with the legally laid down European standards. AMCO tries to make their staff aware of the importance of this aspect by means of a course in “driving economically".

AMCO is continually developing improvements for their line of business. The well-known red trailers will soon be provided with a notebook, allowing them to be in contact with the planning department 24 hours a day.
